POBR2026 Day 6 Juneteenth
to start off the day we woke up and ate our breakfast and got our lunches made for the day. once we were done we did some soil tests on the samples that we gathered yesterday. we did Ph, Nitrate/Nitrite, and phosphorus testing on the soil. we also was able to see how the levels of soil were separated within the test bottle that we used. some of the students also went to the collection sites and recorded the soil temperature with two soil thermometers. one is like a regular thermometer you would use to check the temp. of your turkey and the other one is a fancy digital thermometer that shows the soil temp and other information. once we got these done we also got the soil color and texture as well. for these we used either the Globe or mann. once we got back to camp we started on the more technical soil sample testing. which would take a few hours.
after we finished part of the soil sample testing we made our way to the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute. where we took a self guided tour of the museum. it was a pretty good tour I myself have never been here before so seeing all the displays and the information was pretty good. only other museum I have been to was the cultural center in toppenish WA. that one too was pretty good. after we took the tour we had enough time to relax and work on our poster, we worked on our methods portion of our poster, we also entered in some new data into our excel sheet. and after we finished up here we stopped by the RV park so we could take our showers. for dinner we had Pizza, that was made and cooked by Monet Becenti.
